STAFF - ADMINISTRATION

Kim Schaffer - Recreational Program Director

Although she doesn’t look old enough to not be a gymnast, in actuallity Kim has an excellent background for shaping and directing our Recreational Program.  Kim has a BA in Elementary Education from ASU.  But before that, She coached recreational and team gymnastics in Tennessee for 6 years before moving to Michigan where she was the preschool director and a team coach for 2 years. She has worked at Desert Lights for 20 years both as a developmental and team coach and as an administrator.  She also had the opportunity to judge for several years before becoming a mother to 3 beautiful and talented girls (two of which take part in DLG programs).  Kim states, "I believe that gymnastics helps children learn how to work hard, how to set and achieve reasonable goals and helps them to gain confidence not only in the gym, but in life."

Christy Robinette

Has worked with Lisa Spini for 16 years - 5 at Arizona Twisters with Roe and Lisa, and 11 at Desert Lights. Most importantly, she has been a gymnastics mom for 15 years. Now that her daughter Rhonda is finished with gymnastics, she is the gymnastics mom for all the Desert Lights' gymnasts.

I have seen first hand how wonderful this sport is to so many young girls, no matter how far they take it. The lessons and the skills they acquire are so valuable and makes them very confident, well-rounded young ladies. It has been a privilege to be part of such a quality program; the best in the nation. Good luck to all of you this year!

Donna Spini

Donna retired from the US Postal Service in 2009 after 30 yrs and has since done contract work for the USPS, Phoenix Zoo, Sunrise Senior Centers, and Desert Lights Gymnastics. She works managing the new administrative procedures for Desert Lights Gymnastics.
